India beat Sri Lanka by 50 runs to register its first win in the Asia Cup 2012.
India batting first with the super knocks of Virat Kohli 108 in 120 balls and Gautam Gambhir,s 100 off 118 balls helped India to score 304-3. There was a 205-run second-wicket partnership between Gambhir and Kohli that set up the win.
Once they got out, Dhoni and Suresh Raina showed why they are regarded as masters when it comes to the art of finishing. They played innovative shots, used their wrists and dug out yorkers at will as 71 runs came off the last six overs.
In reply Sri Lanka began its chase well Mahela Jayawardene scored 78 off 59 balls and Kumar Sangakkara made 65 runs. But lower middle-order just couldn't finished the job for Sri Lanka.
