India v England 1st test match was won by England by 196 runs. England beat India in all departments of the game. England’s batting as well bowling was far more superior to India.
India lost half the battle in the first day of the India v England lords test when Zaheer Khan got strain in the right hamstring and was forced to sit without bowling and India was left with only two pacers to bowl in the whole match.
England took full advantage of India’s dismal condition and scored 474 for 8 dec. Kevin Pieteresen scored 202 not out and thrashed India’s already handicapped bowling attack.
Rahul Dravid showed some resistance to England’s bowling attack and scored his 33rd test match hundred he scored 103 not out but India was bowled out for 286 runs.
In second innings England declared at 269 for 6 and gave a target of 458 To India to chase. India scored 261 runs in second innings and lost the match by 196 runs.
