Rahul Dravid became Second Highest Run Scorer in Test Cricket, Top 10 Test match Run Scorer


 Rahul Dravid who achieved a mile stone on Saturday who went past Australian Ricky Ponting to become the second highest run getter in Test cricket during the historic first Test between India and England at Lord's.


In a day of test match when everyone was hoping Sachin to create a new record by scoring his 100th international century. But all cricket fans felt disappointed when he got out for 34.

The 38-year-old Dravid, who had 12,314 runs from 153 Tests at an average of 52.40 before coming into the match, surpassed Ponting who has scored 12,363 runs in 152 games.
Dravid scored 103*not out in India’s first innings which ended at the score of 286/10. Dravid has scored 12417 runs in his 154* tests.

Dravid achieved the milestone when he flicked Graeme Swann through midwicket for a boundary in the fourth ball of the 49th over.

The former India skipper, who interestingly made his Test debut against the same opponents at the same venue in 1996, has 32 hundreds and 60 fifties before this match.

Now two Indians are at the top of the most prolific Test batsmen's chart. Dravid's team-mate Sachin Tendulkar is the highest run scorer, having scored 14,726 runs in 178*.

Larissa Riquelme Lingerie Model to strip and go nude if Paraguay wins Copa America cup


The time is coming closer for the Paraguayan fan model Larissa Riquelme to full fill her wish of going nude for Paraguay if its team wins the Copa America cup.   Larissa Riquelma Gallery


The stunning lingerie model, who promised to run naked through the streets if Paraguay won the 2010 World Cup, made another similar promise over the weekend.

"If Paraguay win the Copa America then I shall pose nude on the pitch," she said just before her team took on Ecuador on Sunday.

Even though Paraguay lost to Spain in the quarterfinals of last year's World Cup, Riquelme decided to run naked anyway, saying that her nude run "will be a present to all of the players, and for all the people in Paraguay to enjoy."

The famous Paraguay fan made headlines in March when she joined in the carnival celebrations in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Paraguay has kept alive the possibilities and dream of Larissa Riquelme to strip by beating Brazil in the quarter finals of the Copa America cup.

India beat Qatar 2-1 in an international Football Friendly.


There is a great news for Indian football fans ahead of their World Cup qualifiers, India stunned Qatar 2-1 in an international football friendly in one of the most memorable victories by the country over a top Asian side on Sunday.



After reaching the Asian cup football tournament this is a great boost for not only Indian football team but also for the new coach. This football friendly match was played at Doha, so, beating Qatar at their home soil makes it even more special.

Sunil Chhetri put India ahead in the 16th minute when he converted a penalty kick before Sushil Kumar Singh struck in the 73rd minute at the Al Sadd Stadium. Qatar scorred a goal in 74th minute through Ibrahim Khalfan.

India had not beaten a top Asian side for a long time and it would boost new coach Armando Colaco's side ahead of their double-leg World Cup qualifiers against United Arab Emirates at Al Ain near Dubai on July 23 and in New Delhi on July 28.

Qatar are ranked 94th in the world and ninth in Asia while India are now at 147th at FIFA rankings.

Manchester United Most valuable Team in the World, Tops Forbes List again.


 
Manchester United after being winning English Premier League this season also becomes the most valuable team of the world. English Premier League champions Manchester United have retained their title as the world's most valuable sports team, according to Forbes magazine's annual top 50 list.
 
The Red Devils Manchester United, who have an estimated 333 million fans around the world, topped the list with a worth of $1.86 billion, just ahead of the Dallas Cowboys ($1.81 billion).

Two other teams made it to the top ten, The top 50 included seven soccer teams, with Real Madrid coming in fifth and Arsenal seventh. The top 50 included seven soccer teams, Barcelona, considered the world's best team, came in at a relatively low 26th despite their on-field success.

National football league (NFL) dominated the list with All 32 franchises in the National Football League (NFL) made the top-50 with six, Dallas, Washington, New England, New York Giants, Houston Texans and New York Jets in the top 10.

The only team in the top 10 that did not play football was Major League Baseball's New York Yankees, who were third overall.

Ferrari was the top motor racing team, listed at 13th, while the New York Knicks (47th) were the leading basketball franchise.

Japan and France reached the semifinal of Women’s World Cup


Japan knocked two-time defending champion Germany out of the Women's World Cup on Saturday, reaching the semifinals with a 1-0 win when substitute Karina Maruyama outran the defense and scored on an angled shot in extra time.



In Germany's first loss in the tournament in a dozen years, Japan absorbed relentless pressure during regulation time and hit back when it counted. Germany had not lost a World Cup game going back to a quarterfinal defeat against the United States in 1999.
Japan will be playing against the winner of the match between Sweden or Australia.


In another match France beat England 4-3 on penalties to advance to their first ever Women's World Cup semifinals on Saturday. The match went into a nail-biting penalty shootout after finishing 1-1 after extra-time.

Jill Scott had put England ahead after 59 minutes with Elise Bussaglia getting the equaliser two minutes from normal time. England's Claire Rafferty and Faye White missed their penalties as did France's Camille Abily.
France next play either Brazil or the United States for a place in the final on July 17.

Sania Mirza and Elena Vesnina are new world no.2 in Tennis after their great performance in Wimbledon 2011. India’s Sania Mirza and Russian girl Elena Vesnina reached last four in Wimbledon this year. The pair of Sania Mirza and Elena Vesnina was ranked 4 for the Wimbledon. 

This season has been incredible for both 24 year old girls. They paired up in February this year and won titles in Indian Wells and Charleston, besides making the French Open final.
Sania, 24, who is vacationing in Dubai with cricketer husband Shoaib Malik, said: "When we started playing together earlier this year, if anyone told us that we'd be the No. 2 doubles team in the world after Wimbledon, we'd have laughed at them. We are one Slam behind everybody else; still we've already done exceptionally well. Elena always says, 'Wish we played together from the Australian Open.' The goal is to make the season-ending championships and we're going to do whatever it takes to be there."

Vesnina, 24, from the Black Sea coast of Sochi, said: "I'd be lying if I told you we're not thinking about the season-ending championships. It's a prestigious event, only the top four teams make the cut and we want to be there.

"Of course we are both singles players first and that remains the priority, but we're also doing great in doubles and we're not going to let an opportunity like this slip."

Petra Kvitova is the first left handed since Martina Navratilova in 1994 to reach the Wimbledon Final. She will be hoping to make it count this year and to take her tennis career to a new height.
