Chennai Super Kings vs Kolkata Knight Riders, Result

Chennai Super Kings won a thrilling encounter against Kolkata Knight Riders by 2 runs. Tim Southee's swing and precision balling performance at the death overs  provided Chennai Super Kings this win over Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL season 4 opener  at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium here on Friday.

The Chennai Super Kings posted the total of 153 on board and kolkata Knight riders required 154 for victory, the game came much closer when Kolkata knight riders required nine runs off the last over with four wickets remaining.

The Kiwi paceman Tim Southee  balled three steaming yorkers off the final three deliveries, and made his team Chennai Super Kings winner of the match and began its campaign with victory in IPL 4 as Kolkata Knight Riders only managed to score 151 runs.

 Manoj Tiwary hit off-spinner Suraj Randiv for two sixes and a boundary in the 19th over. But then, Tiwary gave his wicket away and CSK once again came back in the hunt of victory.

In Chennai Super Kings innings Anirudha Srikkanth emerged as hero for his valuable 55-ball 64 he scored 6 fours and 2 sixes in his innings. This aggressive innings helped CSK to post a  good total of 153 after CSK had elected to bat first. Anirudha was declared Man of the Match for his innings.

Knight Riders fielding performance as not up to the mark they put down a bunch of catches.Jacques Kallis made 54 of just 42 balls with 7 fours, but brilliant run outs of  Yusuf Pathan and Gautam Gambhir made kolkata knight riders life difficult. Yusuf Pathan scored just 11 runs an d Gautam Gambhir made only 1 run
